Sigma II
|
The SGM Sigma II servomotor series includes several families each optimized for different applications.
SGMAH- a small capacity motor series with low rotor inertia for fast accelerations and short settling times.
SGMPH- this series has a flat profile providing the highest torque-per-length ratio available.
SGMGH- series has a medium inertia rotor well suited for applications requiring optimized load matching.
SGMSH/UH- This servomotor series is well-suited for high cycle-rate applications.
SGMBH- large capacity series up to 55 kW providing up to 700 Nm peak torque.

Direct Drive Rotary Servo Motors

Series Highlights |

Frameless
|
The frameless configuration is supplied as two separate components (rotor and stator) and does not include a shaft, bearings, or endbells. Frameless motors are integrated directly with the load where the same bearings which support the load also support the motor. This configuration eliminates shaft, bearings, endbells, and couplings offering reduced volume, weight, complexity and also results in the best possible performance. Frameless motors are well suited for applications where size and weight must be absolutely minimized. Learn more

Goldline DDR
|
Kollmorgen's GOLDLINE direct drive rotary series motors offer a high performance, zero maintenance servo solution. They achieve very high torque density through the combination of large diameter, short length, and a high number of magnetic poles. These motors are designed for applications where the load rides on the motor bearings such as high inertia indexers. Learn more

Cartridge DDR
|
The CARTRIDGE direct drive rotary servomotors combine the performance advantages of frameless direct drive motors with the ease of installation of a full-frame motor, and they have a significantly reduced price point than conventional direct drive motors. Like the frameless motors, these motors must also be integrated directly with the load where the same bearings which support the load also support the motor. Learn more

A good planetary gearhead could have a backlash of 1 arc-minute. Kollmorgen’s standard direct drive rotary (DDR) servomotors have repeatability better than 1 arc-second. Therefore, a direct drive motor can hold a position 60 times better than a conventional motor/gearhead. Increased accuracy along with fewer parts, zero maintenance, no inertia matching, and reduced audible noise set Direct Drive Technology apart from traditional systems. Download the Direct Drive Solutions Brochure to read more about the benefits of this technology.

Direct Drive Linear Solutions
Directly coupling a linear motor to the driven load offers many advantages, including eliminating all mechanical transmissions, such as ball/lead screws, rack& pinions, belts/pulleys, and eliminating gearboxes. This in turn eliminates backlash and compliance, and other problems associated with these mechanical transmissions.

IC / ICD
Ironcore
|
The Ironcore motors provide the highest force per frame size. They feature a patented anti-cogging design which yields extremely smooth operation from these high force motors. The ICD series have even a lower profile than the IC series. Learn more |

Ironless
|
Kollmorgen PLATINUM® Direct Drive Linear (DDL) Ironless motors have no slots for the coil windings. That means a very light mass, absolutely no attractive forces between the coil assembly and the magnet way, and absolutely zero cogging for ultra smooth motion. Learn more |
