From RSI - Robotic Systems Integration - SynqNet Systems

SGDS is the eading edge single-axis solution. Amplifiers feature one of the highest PWM update rate (64 kHz) and up to 17-bit encoder feedback support which enables high performance system implementation. Amplifier supports wide range of 100 VAC and 200 VAC servo motor capacities.

FAQ
I pulled the encoder plug and now my drive LED displays A.C90 alarm code. Do I have to power cycle the drive to fix the error?
You will have to plug the encoder cable back into the drive and power cycle of the drive is required to clear the error.
My drive LED displays A.030 alarm code. How can I clear the error?
A.030 means drive detected a Main Ciruit Detector Error. This occured when the control power supply was turned ON or during operation. There is no way to clear the error. The drive has to be replaced and sent to RSI for repair.
I am using Yaskawa motor and SGDS drive combination. Do I ever need to be worried about over heating the motor
You don’t have to concerned about overheating the motor because using SFD (Smart feedback device) the drive is smart enough to limit the torque (current) based on motor specifications automatically. By default it is set to 300% of the rated torque which is the motor peak torque.
However if you need to change the amount of torque to be safe then you can run SqCmd utility using parameters below:
Pn402: Forward Torque Limit Pn403: Reverse Torque Limit
If you look in the SGDS SynqNet manual (page 170), the values are set to 800% by default. It is slightly confusing because anything above 300% is considered to be 300% of rated torque. Therefore the default value of 800% is actually 300% of the rated torque.
If you set this to 100% then the drive will fault out at the rated torque.
When you set the parameters 402 and 403 the setting should be saved immediately.

Maximum DAC Offset in RapidSetup will amount to what percent of motor rated torque
- In RapidSetup if Offset is 32767 counts, drive will command 300% of rated torque or peak torque in forward direction.
- In RapidSetup if Offset is -32767 counts, drive will command 300% of rated torque or peak torque in reverse direction.
